Meg (about Peter being diagnosed as mentally retarded): I can never go to school again!Stewie: Oh, yes, Meg, yes-yes yes, everything was going swimmingly for you until this. Yes, yes, THIS is the thing that will ruin your reputation, not your years of grotesque appearance, or your awkward social graces, or that Felix Ungerish way you clear your sinuses, no no no, it's THIS. Do you hear yourself talk? I might kill you tonight.

Janet News & Explaination of "Discipline"

“Discipline has been much on my mind,” she says. “It’s the idea
that unifies the songs on this record. As a concept, and even a lifestyle,
discipline goes extremely deep. It can be applied to so much about ourselves. In
my case, I see it as one of defining aspects of my character. Discipline was
there for me from the start. But it was not until this record that I began to
understand its full meaning.
“In putting Discipline out front– as both the
title of the album and title of a song about sexual surrender–I wanted to
announce that I was venturing into new creative waters. That meant working with
producers like Jermaine Dupri, Rodney Jerkins, and Ne-Yo, whose songs spoke to
the immediacy of my emotions. Like all my records, this one, whether intentional
or not, has autobiographical roots. It’s difficult for me to work any other way.
I don’t feel it, if I don’t believe it, I can’t sing it.
“So Discipline, as a
storyline, begins in my childhood which someone could see as a classic study in
discipline. Discipline was part of a family culture that I absorbed. I was born
with it.
“I also believe that discipline has given me the confidence to jump
out of the nest. When L.A. Reid, Chairman of Island Def Jam, and I discussed
co-executive producing this record, we both agreed that the feeling had to be
adventuresome and fresh. I was interested in exploring musical scenarios—some
exotic, many erotic, but all deeply emotional. I wanted to push the envelope.
And I’m glad that `Discipline,’ both as a song and an album, does just
that.
“`Feedback,’ a Rodney Jerkins production, is a different metaphor that
also explores sexual tension. It’s a provocative conversation that invites
openness in an area where so many of us are closed off. The same could be said
for Rodney’s “Roller Coaster,” a musical ride that reflects that up and downs of
romantic/physical agitation and excitement.”
Prison Break Spinoff
Fox is looking to expand its primetime prison population with a spinoff from "Prison Break."
Tentatively titled "Prison Break: Cherry Hill," the potential new series would be set at a women's prison and center on Molly, a new regular character that will be introduced on "Prison" later this season.
Fox has ordered a script of the possible spinoff, which is being written by "Prison" exec producer Matt Olmstead and co-exec producer Zack Estrin and produced by 20th Century Fox TV.
Molly is an upper-middle-class wife. After suffering a family tragedy at the hands of the Company -- the government conspiracy that framed Michael (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) and put them behind bars -- she seeks them out at the hellish Panamanian prison Sona in her quest to exact vengeance.
"There is an ironic similarity between Molly and Michael -- they're both emotionally banged-up, both have lost loved ones, and both want the people responsible to pay -- so they empathize with each other," Olmstead said. (Michael's love interest Sara, played by Sarah Wayne Callies, was killed earlier this season.)
In "Cherry Hill," which would have the same tone as "Prison," Molly goes to a women's detention facility fully accepting the life sentence for her acts of revenge until she is contacted by the government with information that some of her loved ones are alive.
"In a moment's time, she is transformed from an unapologetic murderer to a motivated woman who would do anything to get out of prison and be with them," said Olmstead, who is exec producing "Cherry Hill" with Estrin and "Prison" exec producer Dawn Parouse.
Olmstead and Parouse had been talking about developing a show set at a women's prison for some time but had hit a roadblock -- how to set up and launch such a show?
"Concurrent with that, on 'Prison Break' we wanted to introduce a mystery character who brings some clues to the table and with whom Michael and Lincoln work to uncover the big conspiracy," Olmstead said. "The women's prison idea folded into the idea of introducing that character, and once we combined them, it immediately popped for us."
He approached Estrin with the idea, and he came on board right away.
A search is under way for an actress to play Molly. "Prison" producers will determine in which episode she will make her first appearance after casting the role.
If "Cherry Hill" doesn't go forward, Molly will continue on "Prison" as a regular character.
There have been several series set in women's prisons over the years, including the long-running Australian drama "Prisoner: Cell Block H" and Fox's short-lived comedy "Women in Prison."
"Cherry Hill" follows the path of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," which spun off Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh), a character introduced on the hit medical drama, into her own series, "Private Practice."
Family Guy Spinoff Coming
Fox and 20th Century Fox TV are developing a spinoff from its hit animated series "Family Guy" , says the Hollywood Reporter. The show would be centered on Peter Griffin's neighbor, Cleveland Brown.
The project, tentatively titled "Cleveland," is being written by creator Seth MacFarlane, Mike Henry -- who voices Cleveland and serves as writer-producer on the series -- and "The Simpsons" alum Rich Appel, executive producer/showrunner on MacFarlane's other animated comedy for Fox, "American Dad."Cleveland, who plays off black stereotypes, is the most levelheaded among Griffin's trio of friends.
Las Vegas Cancelled

"At the end of the day, that's NBC's decision, it's a monetary decision. You know, I sold my soul to get a Season five, so I didn't have a soul left to sell. We fought an uphill battle from day one. We were the little big show that could."
R.I.P. - Steve "Static Major" Garrett

As a member of Playa, Static began his musical career under the tutulage of Jodeci's DeVante Swing, and formed kinships with fellow members of DeVante's Swing Mob such as Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Ginuwine. After the Swing Mob members parted company with DeVante, Static and the rest of Playa worked extensively as songwriters, co-producers, and background singers for their colleagues. Static was one of Ginuwine's main songwriters, penning the lyrics to Timbaland-produced Ginuwine hits such as "Pony", "What's So Different", and "So Anxious".
Static also wrote much of Playa's material when the group signed with Def Jam Records in the mid-1990s, including Playa's 1998 hit single "Cheers 2 U" from the album of the same name. Also in 1998, Static wrote the lyrics for Aaliyah's hit single "Are You That Somebody". Following the success of "Are You That Somebody", Static became Aaliyah's main lyricist, and wrote many singles and album tracks for the singer. Static's writing credits for Aaliyah included "Come Back in One Piece", "We Need a Resolution", "Rock the Boat", "More Than a Woman", and the number-one single "Try Again" from the 2000 film Romeo Must Die. During this period, Static also wrote for Nicole Wray ("Eyes Better Not Wander") and Destiny's Child ("Say My Name (Timbaland's Remix)") as well.
Aaliyah died in a plane crash in 2001, and Static went on to write for other artists; his later co-wriitng credits included Truth Hurts' "Addictive" and Brandy's "Come as You Are". Aside from his longtime association with Timbaland, Static also collaborated with producers Scott Storch, Dr. Dre, and Jazze Pha. In the mid-2000s, Static worked with R&B group Pretty Ricky, R&B singer Tank, and appeared on David Banner's 2004 single "Crank It Up".

Toshiba is sending out an official press release as confirmation.
Toshiba Corporation today announced that it has undertaken a thorough review
of its overall strategy for HD DVD and has decided it will no longer develop,
manufacture and market HD DVD players and recorders. This decision has been made
following recent major changes in the market. Toshiba will continue, however, to
provide full product support and after-sales service for all owners of Toshiba
HD DVD products.HD DVD was developed to offer consumers access at an affordable
price to high-quality, high definition content and prepare them for the digital
convergence of tomorrow where the fusion of consumer electronics and IT will
continue to progress."We carefully assessed the long-term impact of continuing
the so-called 'next-generation format war' and concluded that a swift decision
will best help the market develop," said Atsutoshi Nishida, President and CEO of
Toshiba Corporation. "While we are disappointed for the company and more
importantly, for the consumer, the real mass market opportunity for high
definition content remains untapped and Toshiba is both able and determined to
use our talent, technology and intellectual property to make digital convergence
a reality."Toshiba will continue to lead innovation, in a wide range of
technologies that will drive mass market access to high definition content.
These include high capacity NAND flash memory, small form factor hard disk
drives, next generation CPUs, visual processing, and wireless and encryption
technologies. The company expects to make forthcoming announcements around
strategic progress in these convergence technologies. Toshiba will begin to
reduce shipments of HD DVD players and recorders to retail channels, aiming for
cessation of these businesses by the end of March 2008. Toshiba also plans to
end volume production of HD DVD disk drives for such applications as PCs and
games in the same timeframe, yet will continue to make efforts to meet customer
requirements. The company will continue to assess the position of notebook PCs
with integrated HD DVD drives within the overall PC business relative to future
market demand. This decision will not impact on Toshiba's commitment to standard
DVD, and the company will continue to market conventional DVD players and
recorders. Toshiba intends to continue to contribute to the development of the
DVD industry, as a member of the DVD Forum, an international organization with
some 200 member companies, committed to the discussion and defining of optimum
optical disc formats for the consumer and the related industries.Toshiba also
intends to maintain collaborative relations with the companies who joined with
Toshiba in working to build up the HD DVD market, including Universal Studios,
Paramount Pictures, and DreamWorks Animation and major Japanese and European content providers on the entertainment side, as well as leaders in the IT
industry, including Microsoft, Intel, and HP. Toshiba will study possible
collaboration with these companies for future business opportunities, utilizing
the many assets generated through the development of HD DVD.
