Heroes gets a dose of New Orleans reality with Dana Davis
if you saw this weeks episode, you know her power is cool as hellDana Davis, one of the new actors for Season 2 of NBC's Heroes, said her character, Monica, in some ways is like Hiro from Season 1.
"It's top-secret what my ability is," Davis said. "But I can say that a lot of characters in Heroes don't embrace their abilities, but Monica does. It's fun what her ability is, and it's so exciting. And it changes her life because life's sort of dealt her a bad hand of cards and here's this thing and it excites her and it gives her a one-way ticket out of her life, which kind of sucks.
"So, she's really excited about it. And I think it's fun she brings that excitement to it."

Davis said unlike most Heroes characters, Monica doesn't seem burdened by her powers.
"In the first season, Hiro was very excited about his powers," Davis said. "And as he is maturing, he is going through different phases. And I think Monica is bringing back that excitement and energy to having powers."
Monica is the cousin of Micah Sanders, who, at the end of last Monday's episode, was dropped off by his mother Niki to live with the extended family for a spell.
"We find Monica in post-Katrina New Orleans," Davis said. "She lost her family in the hurricane. Micah goes to stay with his cousins, and she's sort of taking care of the family. In the hurricane, she lost her family and she becomes the bread-winner of the family.
"So she's working this dead-end job at the Burger Bonanza. And she's taking care of her little brother and her grandmother, and now she's taking care of Micah as well."

Stewie to Kill Lois?!?!?

Fox has released a description and promotional image from "Stewie Kills Lois," the 100th episode of Family Guy scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4.
Here's how the network describes the episode:
"Lois and Peter go on a cruise, leaving Stewie and the family behind. Upset with Lois for leaving him at home, Stewie vows to carry out a diabolical plan. When Brian challenges him to actually do it, Stewie stows away on the ship, finds Lois and ... well ... the title of the episode says it all."
Thunder . . .Thunder . . Thundercats .. HO!
Video game veteran Jerry O'Flaherty will direct Warner Bros.' CG-animated Thundercats feature, based on the popular '80s cartoon series, comic book and toy line.
The project marks the first feature directing gig for O'Flaherty, who served as an art director on such bestselling games as "Gears of War" and "Unreal Tournament 3" for Epic Games and the "Command and Conquer" series from Westwood Studios.
"It feels like a natural thing for me to step into," O'Flaherty said. "Games have come so far now. The last four years of my life have been about bringing the energy of filmmaking into the video game experience."
O'Flaherty will now work with screenwriter Paul Sopocy on the script.
Warner-based Paula Weinstein will produce through her Spring Creek Productions, along with Dick Robertson and Lew Korman.
The origin story expands on the major heroes and villains from the animated series, with the plot focusing on Lion-O coming of age as the leader of the Thundercats.
The property revolves around a group of humanoid cats who must flee the planet of Thundera, which is destroyed. Once crash-landing on another planet, Third Earth, they must thwart Mumm-Ra, an evil sorcerer bent on killing them off.

Janet in the studio with Marooned 5

Janet Jackson is currently working on her new studio album and recently boyfriend producer Jermaine Dupri talked to MTV News about the record:
"Probably in February or March or the summer," JD said. "It's 45 percent done. Singer/songwriter The-Dream has a song on her album, as does Rodney Jerkins. It's gonna be a crazy album. It's a Janet record. I'm A&R-ing, and I'm probably going to be the executive producer. But I'm getting records she likes and pulling records from other people. She has a duet with Maroon 5. Just little things."
Eve album pushed back again
Rapper Eve in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, talked about her forthcoming album titled "Here I Am" which originally was due for release in October and now delayed until 2008:
EW: What's going on here? Why so many delays with this album? Are you scrapping the whole thing and starting over?
EVE: No, I'm not completely starting over. I'm definitely gonna keep some of the records that I had because I love a lot of the stuff that I did. So I'm keeping a lot of it. I'm just going back in to kinda make it a well-rounded album. I think what kind of delayed us this time was that I went in and did two records that sound a lot like the Pharrell record — the singing record.... I don't think the movement was right and I'd rather put out an album and feel 100 percent connected to it than just to put out an album, especially the way music is right now.
EW: So what's the latest release date for the album?
EVE: Some time next year. I know [Laughs]. It's like I've been trying to push this baby out for a year, okay! Trust me, it is really crazy. It's the longest labor on earth! But honestly, I feel okay about it. It'll be some time next year.
