Making The Band . .. All Stars?

One more MTB4 post . . .

MTV says that the next season of Diddy's Making The Band will feature Danity Kane, the new group, and Donnie all making their albums. Should be interesting to see how they split the camera time between the three, but it should attract quite a wide variety of viewers. What the hell do you call this one though?

Mariah speaks on coming album

Here are some extracts where Mariah speaks about her new album, the follow-up to "The Emacipation Of Mimi", to be released in November from Interview Magazine:

IS: Give us a sneak preview. What can you tell us about the new music?

MC: It's a fun record - it's been my obsession. Look, to me, that I'm able to do what I love for a living is a gift from God. I could be doing something I hate every day. Yes, sometimes it's tough because I've got to sleep 15 hours to sing the way I want to. It's not easy because my vocal chords are different than most people's. But that aside, this album has been so much fun because I'm writing with a lot different people but mainly a lot of rappers and I will bring something to the table that they wouldn't have and vice versa.

IS: I know you're working again with Jermaine Dupri. Who else?

MC: Swiss Beats and I have been working together. He was really young when I first met him and now he's got all these Warhols - I'm like, This dude is rich! He's great. I'm really excited about a couple of songs we've done together.

IS: Is there a general theme to the new album?

MC: I sat in the hot tub the other night playing some songs for some friends and one of them felt that it was a very pro-woman kind of thing. And I was like, "You know what, I didn't do that intentionally." It is not that the songs are male-bashing, but she felt that it was very empowered-woman moment. I love to be able to play things for people who can listen to something rough. When I'm playing something for someone from the record company I need to perfect it a little bit more.

Justice League Movie is CGI?

Happy Feet director George Miller is reportedly attached to the Justice League Film .Reports have said that the superhero team-up movie would include Batman, Superman, The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern, that casting would start next week, and that Christian Bale (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) and Brandon Routh (Superman, Superman: Man of Steel) would not be involved. IESB.net says that the movie might be a CGI/performance capture project, much like The Polar Express, and the upcoming Beowulf and Avatar.

According to the picture’s producers, the title role will be cast by auditioning both actors and non-actors alike who bear a resemblance to the rapper. Get Smart - The Movie

Steve Carrel as Maxwell Smart and Anne Hathaway as Agent 99

OK maybe I am showing my age with this one . . . but Get Smart was just plain funny. I watched the re-runs as a kid. I think they play them on TV Land - if you haven't ever seen it, check it out . .

Anyway, principal photography is done on the film, and it is scheduled to start playing in theaters June 20, 2008.

Stars: Steve Carrell (40 Year Old Virgin) as Maxwell Smart, Anne Hathaway (The Devil Wears Prada) as Agent 99, The Rock as Agent 23, Alan Arkin as The Chief, Terrence Stamp as Siegfried, and Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris, White Chics) as Agent 91.

Again I say . . Please Don't Suck

Warner Bros has set executive producer Kurt Sutter (FX's The Shield) to write and direct a remake to the 1973 kung fu classic, ENTER THE DRAGON, starring Bruce Lee. The remake will be titled AWAKEN THE DRAGON to be produced by John Wells, Fred Weintraub and Paul Heller. Sutter has indicated that he is adapting the classic story as a contemporized drama about a lone FBI agent who pursues a rogue Shaolin monk into the bloody world of underground martial arts fight clubs.
"I'm a huge noir fan, and this plot lends itself to the film I want to make," Sutter said. "I wanted to set it in these underground fight clubs where the action is really raw and expose the brutality of Shaolin kung fu. This will be more 'Raging Bull' than 'Crouching Tiger' in its viciousness."

And I'll Form . . The HEAD

20th Century Fox under their subsidiary, New Regency, has agreed to VOLTRON: DEFENDER OF THE UNIVERSE getting adapted to the big screen under executive producer Mark Gordon who has been developing the project. The producer has hinted that his adaptation will be a post-apocalyptic tale of survival set in New York City and Mexico.

VOLTRON is a sword wielding super robot assembled and disassembled by 5 Galaxy Alliance pilots who control vehicles shaped like lions. They combine together to make a massive robot that does battle against an evil menace.

All I am sayin is . .PLEASE DON'T SUCK

WATCHMEN

OK so alot of non-comic geeks have no idea what "Watchmen" is or why a movie based on the late-80's comic mini series would be all exciting . . . But hell I AM a comic geek and I am quite happy that the movie is in production.

Check out what Wikipedia says:
Watchmen is a twelve-issue comic book limited series written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. Originally published by DC Comics as a monthly limited series from 1986 to 1987,[1] it was later republished as a trade paperback.[2] It was one of the first superhero comics to present itself as serious literature, and it also popularized the "graphic novel" format. To date, Watchmen remains the only graphic novel to win a Hugo Award,[3] and is also the only graphic novel to appear on Time Magazine's 2005 list of "the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present."[1]
Watchmen is set in 1985, in an alternative history United States where costumed adventurers are real and the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union (the Doomsday Clock is at five minutes to midnight).
Yea. 100 best in English since 1923. Comic geeks win sometimes.
Anyway, Actress Carla Gugino (naked lesbian hooker chic in Sin City) has been cast into the role of "Sally Jupiter", a dancer turned heroine aka Silk Spectre in the Minutemen, a group before the "Watchmen".

Akon Video & Album Re-Release

Akon is re-releasing "Konvicted" and using "Sorry, Blame it on me" as the lead single. He's apologizing for the dirty dancing with the minor, supposedly . . but it doesn't really seem like an apology.

Timbaland, Timberlake, Skateboard P, and . .. Madonna?

"We just did Madonna's record," Timbo said. "Me and Justin did the records" for the album, he continued, saying Madonna is almost done with the effort. "She's great. ... She's got a hot album. Her album is up there with Justin's album."

Tim and Justin wrote and produced 10 songs for the LP.

"There's this one song, we taking it back to 'You must be my luck-eee starrrr!' ... Remember 'Ugly' by Bubba Sparxxx? I got a beat similar to that. The hook is no words. It's saying stuff named after coffee — all these different names for coffee — is the hook . . . The name of the song is 'La, La.' Pharrell did a hot one for her too called 'Candy Shop.' She's off the chain."

WOW I actually wanna hear how this comes out.

HEY BAY BAY?

Louisiana native Terrance Stewart, also known as DJ Bay Bay, was arrested Monday and charged with rape and witness intimidation, according to a report in Louisiana newspaper The Shreveport Times. Stewart served as the inspiration behind rapper Hurricane Chris' breakout hit "A Bay Bay," which is a nod to the DJ. According to Shreveport police, an unidentified woman was found drunk and unconscious on Thursday night at the club where Stewart was spinning, and police believe the woman was raped during the party. Stewart is being held in jail on a $150,000 bond; his lawyer issued a statement defending his client's innocence. "Mr. Stewart is innocent of these charges and intends to vigorously defend himself against them," lawyer Eric Johnson said. "We are very confident that after the case is tried by a judge or jury that Mr. Stewart will be exonerated." Police are also searching for another DJ, Ron Johnson, who they believe was also involved in the incident. ...

BLACK COLLEGE KIDS KILLED

image from CNN

The four lived in Newark and were to attend Delaware State University this fall. None had criminal records, according to authorities, and relatives and neighbors said they were not involved in drinking, drugs or gangs.
“They were good kids,” Essex County Prosecutor Paula Dow said. [SOURCE]
Cornered by thugs in a desolate Newark schoolyard, four college students kept their cool and sent each other a flurry of text messages that said, in essence - we’ve got to get out of here.
But before they could escape, three of the victims were marched to a wall, forced to kneel - and shot dead, police said yesterday.
The sole survivor, Natasha Aeriel, was in stable condition and under a 24-hour police watch at a Newark hospital after giving cops a sketchy description of Saturday’s slaughter and the five men responsible for the executions. Aeriel had been shot before the other students were slain.
“We’re getting the story piecemeal from her,” Police Director Garry McCarthy said of Aeriel, 19, a junior at Delaware State University. “Based upon witness testimony, we believe it was a robbery.”
McCarthy would not release the desperate text messages but said the victims did not appear to know their attackers. He also said they did not die without a struggle. [READ MORE]

JJ ABRAMS 1-18-08 MOVIE

The trailer for this before "Transformers" was tight . . and annoying as hell as it did not present a name for the movie or the premise, but . . .

Seven new videos of behind the scene shoots have made their way online for JJ Abrams' upcoming 1-18-08 movie. While the videos don't show any actual filming from the movie, it does show the production crew getting ready for a chaotic scene in the streets where something "monstrous" wreaks havoc upon the citizens of NYC.
To see the new videos, click here.
Btw, a new photo appeared on the official 1-18-08.com site last week. Also, if you click on the picture and joggle it left and right, the photos will turn over and reveal a "message" from a character. Not all the photos have these messages but there are 3 or 4 photos that have something written on them
