Another classic best selling arcade game is prepped for a live-action adaptation inside Hollywood, says Variety. Just a few days after a Joust film was announced, the trade is reporting that Fox and Capcom has chosen director Andrzej Bartkowiak(Doom, Romeo Must Die) to lead up the next version of STREET FIGHTER to the big screen. Filming is to begin early 2008 with production being handled by Hyde Park Entertainment. This adaptation will be based off a script from Justin Marks, the same screenwriter handling the next version of He-Man:Masters of the Universe. This isn't the first time a SF movie made its way to the big screen. Back in 94, Jean Claude Van Damme starred in a version from Universal Pictures.
This SF adaptation will focus on Chun Li, the female fighter looking for justice.

Also, for fans of these flicks and fighting games in general . . . The "Dead or Alive" movie does not suck. It is completely over the top, but fun to watch and well done for what it is.
