- The main character, even though it's a live action film, will be done with CG animation and will be shot in 3D using the stereo imaging system that James Cameron had been developing for his documentaries.

- James Cameron confirmed in an interview that this will be a combination of the first three books in Yukito Kishiro's series of graphic novels. In another interview, Cameron also said that should this film be successful, he hopes to make another two "Battle Angel" films.
By the intended release date of Summer 2009, Cameron hopes that around a thousand theaters across North America will have been equipped with special 3D digital projectors that will be able to screen the movie. - Based on the Japanese manga, "Gunnm". The comic was released in North America under the title "Battle Angel Alita".
